Three police officers and two members of the public have been injured and a number of cars damaged after the chase of a car in east Belfast.

The chase was sparked after a silver Renault Megane car failed to stop for police on Tuesday morning on Roseberry Road.

Police chased the car along Ravenhill Road, London Road, Upper Frank Street and My Lady’s Road before it hit one of their cars.

A number of other cars were damaged during the chase and two people injured.

None of the injuries are believed to be serious at this time.

Two men aged 22 and 26 were arrested by police.

Inspector Wise said: “The two men are currently in custody assisting officers with their enquiries and I would ask anyone who witnessed the silver Renault Megane being driven in the area this morning or who witnessed the incident to contact police in Musgrave on 101.”
