Belfast Post Office robbery condemned
The Alliance Party has condemned those involved in a robbery at a Post Office yesterday.
Two men forced their way into a convenience shop on the Cregagh Road, east Belfast, close to the Titania Street junction at around 10am.
A male and a female employee were threatened but uninjured. The robbers made their escape with cash.
Belfast councillor Máire Hendron said: “Our Post Offices are facing a tough enough time at present in this difficult economic climate, and the last thing they need are despicable incidents like this which are traumatic and which disrupt work. Anyone who can help police catch the thugs involved should contact police immediately.”
One of the men was 5ft 4ins tall, stocky or plump, and wore a navy tracksuit top and white trainers.
The second is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of muscular build and wore a navy boiler suit with white trainers. Both wore balaclavas and gloves.
