Belfast taxi driver 'fondled dozing woman passenger', court told
A Belfast taxi driver allegedly sexually assaulted a female fare as she dozed in the passenger seat of his car, a jury has heard.
The Belfast Crown Court jury also heard that when arrested and interviewed within hours of the alleged incident last July, Value Cabs' driver, 48-year-old Duncan Hutchinson Frame, claimed the woman had offered him "payment in kind" during the journey.
Frame, from Castle Meadows in Newtownards, denies a single charge of sexual assault against the 20-year-old woman on July 2 last year.
Prosecuting lawyer David Russell said the woman had been out with friends and ordered a taxi to take her home from west Belfast.
He described how the female was tired and dozed off in the passenger seat but was aware of Frame allegedly rubbing her right leg, "but she shrugged so he knew she was awake."
The trial continues.
