Belfast Telegraph’s top journalism wins national recognition
The quality of the Belfast Telegraph’s journalism has been recognised with five nominations for the UK Regional Press Awards.

- Sports journalist of the year: Steven Beacom (below).
- Supplement of the year: |Weekend magazine
- The digital award: |belfasttelegraph.co.uk
Northern Ireland’s biggest selling daily newspaper is in the running in five categories at the prestigious awards ceremony, which takes place in London next month. The Telegraph has been nominated for the top award of newspaper of the year, along with our sister paper Sunday Life.
The other contenders are the Manchester Evening News, Sunday Mercury and Yorkshire Post.
The Tele is also in contention for the front page of the year.
As well as the newspaper of the year category, the Telegraph’s website, belfasttelegraph.co.uk, will be vying for the digital award. Meanwhile, chief sports writer Steven Beacom is in the running for sports journalist of the year and Weekend magazine has been nominated for supplement of the year.
