Belfast to Bangor A2 resurfacing to cause delays
Drivers have been warned to expect delays on the main Belfast to Bangor road as a major resurfacing scheme gets underway.
Work will begin on the £445,000 project on the A2 between the Ballysallagh Road and Ballyrobert Road junctions on September 2 and last for seven weeks.
From Monday, lane restrictions will come into operation between the two junctions and will operate from 9.30am to 4.30pm in the Belfast-bound lanes and 9.30am to 4pm in the Bangor direction. During the period of disruption, traffic will be restricted to a single lane at off-peak times.
There will be no restrictions during morning and evening rush hours Monday to Friday, but motorists have been urged to allow extra time for journeys.
"Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to the public, however, motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected," a statement said.
