Northern Ireland's friendly match against Croatia at Windsor Park has been delayed after a lorry shed its load of metal plates on the Westlink.

The game was due to kick-off at 7.45pm but will now begin at 8pm.

The incident happened between Grosvenor Road and Broadway heading towards the M1 causing major tailbacks.

Some of the metal plates have been recovered and two lanes are open towards M1/Broadway.

Translink reported 40 minute delays to all Metro Services and some Ulsterbus services due to the incident.

Meanwhile a broken down lorry is obstructing the outer lane of the Westlink.

Traffic in and around the city was already expected to be congested due to the Northern Ireland match .
