Bid for new road racing museum to honour heroes
Plans are under way to have a bigger motorcycling museum in Ballymoney, which for many is the spiritual home of the sport in Northern Ireland because of its links to the legendary late Joey Dunlop.
Ballymoney UUP councillor Darryl Wilson has asked Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council to open a larger road racing museum in place of the current permanent exhibit.
Currently the small motorbike display has been boosted by an enhanced Road Warriors display, which has been running in the museum since before this year's NW200 races and is due to finish on August 27.
The matter will be discussed at council next week.
