Biffy Clyro delays Belsonic gig to let fans watch Northern Ireland's Euro 2016 match against Wales at Titanic venue
Only Biffy Clyro ticketholders will be permitted
Biffy Clyro fans with tickets to their Belsonic gig on Saturday will be able to watch the big Euro 2016 match against Wales at the original Titanic fanzone.
The Scottish rock band have delayed their performance at Belsonic to allow their fans who are supporting Northern Ireland to watch the match against Wales on a big screen at Titanic Belfast.
There was anger earlier this week among Northern Ireland fans when it emerged that the official fanzone at Titanic Belfast would not be available for the match against Wales on Saturday due to Belsonic.
Frantic negotiations took place with even First Minister Arlene Foster, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and Belfast Lord Mayor Brian Kingston getting involved to find an alternative venue for the fanzone.
However now Biffy Clyro has offered to rejig the set times of their Belsonic show to allow their fans to be able to watch both the match and the show.
The move was announced on Belsonic's Facebook page on Friday afternoon.
To facilitate this offer, the doors will open at the earlier time of 4.30pm ahead of the match at 5pm and the Northern Ireland versus Wales game will be shown on the big screen for ticket holders only.
"Big thanks to Biffy Clyro for helping to make this happen," Belsonic said in a statement.
"The match kicks off at 5pm. All artists will perform as advertised after the match is concluded.
"Last remaining tickets for the concert are on sale now from Ticketmaster outlets, and a limited number will be available on the day from the main entrance box office from 4.30pm."
