Bins at north Belfast apartment block set alight in arson attack

Police are appealing after bins in the ground floor area of an apartment block were set alight in an arson attack.

The fire happened in the Edlingham Street area of north Belfast on Tuesday night,

At around 7pm a report was received of bins on fire in the amenities area on the ground floor of an apartment block.

Police and NIFRS attended and the fire was extinguished.

Damage was caused to the ground floor of the building as a result.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

Police are treating this as arson and Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101.
