Blues leave it late to deny Glenavon while Crues ease past Ports

Champions Linfield had to rely on a last minute equaliser to deny Glenavon a surprise victory at Windsor Park at the weekend.

Glenavon keeper Andy Coleman saved Peter Thompson's penalty before Ciaran Martyn's 77th minute shot (below) managed to squeeze past Alan Blayney.

Daryl Fordyce hit the bottom corner to earn a draw but the Blues are now 14 points behind leaders Cliftonville.

Meanwhile Crusaders moved up to second place in the table thanks to Saturday's deserved 2-0 win over 10-man Portadown at Seaview.

Jordan Owens put the north Belfast men into the lead in the seventh minute from a header from about six yards out after Gary McCutcheon had delivered the cross. The Hatchetmen went 2-0 up through Timmy Adamson, heading in after Gareth McKeown had played the ball in.

Glentoran are up to fifth in the Premiership thanks to Andy Waterworth's double against Lisburn Distillery.
