Bobby Moffett murder: Legal bid to access UVF file
The sister of a man murdered by the UVF has cleared the first stage in her High Court battle to secure disclosure of a full report on the shooting.
Bobby Moffett (43) was shot on Belfast's Shankill Road in May 2010. Months later the Independent Monitoring Commision body set up to scrutinise paramilitary activity found that the UVF's leadership had sanctioned the 43-year-old's killing.
It declined to say if the terror grouping had breached its ceasefire.
Mr Moffett's sister, Irene Owens, is seeking a judicial review which would compel the Secretary of State to release the dossier in full.
Mr Justice Treacy granted leave to seek a judicial review.
He listed the case for a full two-day hearing in March next year.
