Body found in search for missing man Jonathan Tipping
Police searching for missing man Jonathan Tipping have found a body in the Cavehill area of north Belfast.
The family of Mr Tipping, 31, have been informed of the discovery at Cavehill Country Park shortly after midday today, although formal identification has yet to take place.
On Wednesday afternoon, relatives of the 31-year-old reported that they had been unable to contact him.
They last spoke to Mr Tipping on Tuesday evening.
Mr Tipping, who is from the Skeogneill area, was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and a blue quilted jacket.
Search teams had been combing Cavehill Country Park since the report of his disappearance was made.
Police confirmed on Thursday afternoon they had found a body.
Inspector Roy Burnside said: “We would like to extend our sympathies to the Tipping family at this sad time.
"I would also like to extend my thanks to all those who assisted in the search operation."
