A suspicious object that prompted a security alert at a Belfast police station has been declared a hoax.

The Army bomb squad was tasked to deal with a package found at Woodbourne station, west Belfast, on Thursday afternoon.

They carried out a controlled explosion and have since declared it a hoax.

Suffolk Road was closed between the Stewartstown Road and Horn Drive, and Stewartstown Road was shut between Blacks Road and the Poleglass roundabout.

The alert has now ended and all roads have reopened to traffic.
