A six-year-old boy has been killed in a road crash in Northern Ireland.

The child was struck by a car in Newtownards, Co Down, at around 3.20pm.

The fatal collision happened on the Scrabo Road.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

They said investigating officers could be contacted by calling 101.
