Belfast's oldest school The Belfast Royal Academy (BRA) celebrated its 225th anniversary at the weekend.
A special gala dinner dance for the Antrim Road school organised by Friends of the Royal Academy (FRA) was held at The Culloden Hotel on Saturday.
Speaking about the event, BRA's vice principal Catherine Scully said: “The event was organised by FRA, a group of parents who have, over the years, raised significant funds to support school activities.
“It was a great evening and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
BRA was founded in 1785.
However there was sad news for the school when a former principal, Louis Lord, died last week.
He was headmaster at the school from 1968 to 1980. He was 91.
