Burglars hammer nails into man's hands in north Belfast home

It happened during an aggravated burglary

A man has has nails hammered into each of his hands by burglars in north Belfast.

A number of masked men entered a house in the Florence Walk area on Thursday night.

At around 8.15pm the 23-year-old male occupant was forced into the kitchen of the property where the men are reported to have hammered a nail into each of his hands.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

A woman who was also in the house at the time was not injured.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that could assist the police investigation to contact Detectives at Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.

Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
