Burst mains hits business
Four burst water pipes disrupted Christmas trade for pubs and restaurants and caused traffic chaos near Belfast City Hall yesterday.
Hospitality Ulster expressed concern, saying some businesses had had their water supply cut off at a "critical time of the year for the hospitality sector".
Emergency repair work was carried out in Cromac Street with the closure of one lane.
NI Water said last night that two burst mains in the city centre had been repaired, with the other two expected to be fixed by midnight.
The remaining bursts were on the Grosvenor Road, where one property was affected.
