Bus passengers cash in

Translink Ulsterbus in Bangor is encouraging passengers to save money and take advantage of cash-free bus travel by using a Smartlink card.

From now until the end of October, Translink Ulsterbus drivers in the Bangor area will be handing out smartlink vouchers redeemable for a free smart card to customers who pay by cash.

Translink’s Service Delivery Manager for Bangor, Richard Hudson, says:”Using a smartlink Multi-Journey card passengers’ travelling on Bangor Town Services can save 50p per journey compared to cash-fares and you can start by buying as few as five journeys which can be used over 12 months.”

He said regular Smartlink multi-journey customers could make annual savings of up to £200 while Smartlink Travelcards offer passengers’ unlimited travel for a day, week or month on all Bangor town services.
