The M-amp;S Big Beach Clean-up at Hazelbank Beach in Newtownabbey has been rescheduled. The event, previously postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, is set to take place on Tuesday June 12.
Marks -amp; Spencer (M-amp;S) is encouraging its Northern Ireland customers to sign up to come along at 10.45am to become big beach cleaners and help the Marine Conservation Society (MCS) clean beaches and protect our seas.
The event is part of M-amp;S' Forever Fish campaign. Anyone interested in taking part should register their interest at www.mcsuk.org/foreverfish, including those who registered for the original event.
The aim of the first ever M-amp;S Big Beach Clean-up, organised by the MCS and supported by Newtownabbey Borough Council, is to stop common items such as fishing nets, ropes and bottles tops polluting our beaches and seas.
Customers who register for the clean-up in advance will receive a money-off at M-amp;S voucher and will get some free M-amp;S snacks on the day of the clean.
Sarah Blackburn, M-amp;S head of region said: "It was unfortunate we had to postpone our previous beach clean-up at Hazelbank. We know how much our customers care about where their food comes from, especially fish."
