Calum Best proud to say his new fashion range is pants
Calum Best is following in his father's footsteps, but in fashion not football.
The model and actor son of the Northern Ireland and Manchester United football legend George has launched his own range of eco-underwear in the city.
To add to the a sense of deja vu, his store is located on the same street where his father opened up his own fashion store in the 1970s.
The building where the store was located has now been taken over by Starbucks, but many fans of George Best still remember the fashion outlet vividly.
George was seen as a fashion icon at that time and was so revered he was often referred to as the fifth Beatle.
Launching his brand, Calum was very clear that he was not copying his father and stressed that the eco-underwear range was his own brainchild.
He held the launch during Manchester Fashion Week, and it was quite an eye-opener for the audience who got to see the underwear made from bamboo.
Calum said that he didn't want people to compare his range with his father's.
He says he is a newcomer in the fashion world who is trying to make his own mark in the fashion world. He's also hoping this playboy may now be in for an image makeover as a serious fashion designer with his ground-breaking underwear made from the fast growing plant.
Bamboo is a sustainable resource that makes a luxurious and durable underwear. Best's eco-underwear will cost between £10 and £15, in an effort to make it affordable for most people.
He's also now planning to launch fragrances under the Best brand.
