Police have dismantled a cannabis factory with about 100 plants at a house in south Belfast.

A search was carried out at the house in Mowhan Street as part of a proactive operation on Wednesday.

Officers from the District Support Team based at Antrim Road have dismantled the cannabis factory and seized a large number of cannabis plants.

Constable Michael Johnson said: "Approximately 100 cannabis plants and an assortment of apparatus used for the cultivation of cannabis plants was seized. No arrests have been made at this stage however enquiries are ongoing.

"I would encourage anyone with any information about illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. “
