Carl Frampton win gets Rory McIlroy night out on Wayne Rooney
Carl Frampton wasn't the only Ulster man who celebrated victory as the Belfast boxer won the world championship unification title over Manchester's Scott Quigg on Saturday night.
Rory McIlroy and Wayne Rooney - both proudly supporting their home boxers - playfully upped the ante ahead of the fight in Manchester as they wished the boxers good luck on Twitter.
The Holywood-born boxer cheekily responded to Rooney's salute to Quigg with a tweet saying 'You're a legend Wayne but it's @RealFCFrampton for me all the way!'
The striker took things one step further and challenged the golfer and wrote "How about the loser pays the bill next time your (sic) in Manchester?"
After Frampton won the fight in a split decision, his friend McIlroy wasted no time in making sure that Rooney would make good on the bet and told him to get his wallet out.
