Police are hunting a masked man who robbed a Co Antrim shop at gunpoint.

There were no reports of any injuries but a sales assistant and customer were left badly shaken by the ordeal at the premises in Woodburn Road, Carrickfergus, on Sunday.

The robber fled on foot with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

He is described as being about 6ft and of slim or medium build.

A spokeswoman for the PSNI has appealed for any witnesses to contact detectives at Larne on the non- emergency 101 number.
