Motorists have been urged to exercise caution while driving along the M1 citybound and M2 foreshore following reports of an oil spillage.

A PSNI spokesman said motorists should reduce their speed and exercise caution on the M1 citybound and M2 foreshore following reports of an oil spill on the carriageway from Applegreen Service Station on M1 as far as Mallusk offslip on M2.

Motorists have also been advised of another reported oil spill affecting A8 between M2 and Larne docks.

Trafficwatch NI said police have put a skid risk message along the carriageways.
