Child dies suddenly on trip to Newcastle funfair
A child has died after collapsing during a family trip to an amusement park in Newcastle, Co Down.
The boy, understood to be from Lisburn, is believed to have been just ten years old.
An ambulance rushed to the Pleasureland funfair on the Central Promenade on Friday afternoon and took the child to Belfast's Royal Victoria Children's Hospital, but he later died.
Witnesses told the Irish News he appeared to "just faint".
The amusement park was shut immediately for police to examine the scene, however the death is not believed to be suspicious.
