Child finds drugs in Co Down play park

A bag of drugs has been found by a 10-year-old girl in a play park in Co Down.

The bag discovered in Downpatrick contained amphetamine, more commonly known as speed.

The child gave the bag to an adult, who then handed it in to police.

The play park is located on the Colmcille Road in Downpatrick.

A spokesman for the PSNI in Co Down said: "It's probably a parent's worst nightmare for their child to find something like this, never mind where they thought was a place of safety.

"Thankfully, they had the sense to not open it but to give it to a grown-up."
