Chinese trio jailed for running mail order cannabis racket
Three Chinese men have been jailed after police smashed a mail order drugs and cash racket.
Long Wang, Wei Chen and JieJie Lin were sentenced at Belfast Crown Court to 21 months in jail following an investigation by the PSNI's Organised Crime squad. The court heard that during the operation 8kg of herbal cannabis was seized, which had been sent in the post from London.
Judge Gordon Kerr QC said all three defendants, whose addresses were given as care of Maghaberry Prison, were equally culpable in the operation and should spend half the sentence in custody and the remainder on licence.
Chen (29) had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class B drugs and transferring criminal property totalling £90,260.
He further pleaded guilty to one count of using criminal property of £2,761, one charge of possessing criminal property and having no insurance.
Wang (30) also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply herbal cannabis and three counts of transferring criminal property.
Lin (29) pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply drugs, four counts of transferring criminal property and three counts of using criminal property.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing an article for use in fraud, possessing criminal property and having no insurance.
