A Co Down man has won an incredible £1m on a scratchcard.

Martin McKenna bought the life-changing National Lottery Millionaire 777 Red scratchcard at Tesco Knocknagoney.

The 35-year-old popped into the shop to pick up a few groceries for dinner with his girlfriend Ceri and took a punt on the £5 scratchcard.

He was stunned to find he had won the jackpot.

Martin said he planned to buy a new house and clear his debts.

But one of his first port of calls, he said, would be to the car dealer to buy himself and Ceri two new Volkswagens.

Martin said: "I always wanted to own a Volkswagen.

"I want to buy a new house, clear my debts and treat my family and friends."
