Published 21/02/2012

A rare 34-year-old Irish whiskey is expected to go under the hammer for a sobering £1,000 at auction in Glasgow tomorrow.

The bottle of Coleraine Single Malt Old Irish -- distilled in 1959 -- has a price tag of between £800 and £1,000.

The McTear's Rare & Collectable Whisky Sale will feature over 400 bottles of rare Irish whiskey and a very rare collection of five Irish whiskey miniatures.

One of the key lots will be a 50-year-old bottle of Springbank which could fetch up to £10,000.
