Colin Glen Forest Park suspected pipe bomb find 'despicable', SDLP councillor
A suspected pipe bomb found at a public park in west Belfast which sparked a security alert has been branded "despicable".
Police attended the scene at Colin Glen Forest Park on Friday night.
Army bomb experts were tasked to the scene where early reports suggested a pipe bomb find.
It's understood the pipe bomb had been discarded in the area for some time.
SDLP Councillor for the area Brian Heading said it was "despicable".
He told the Belfast Telegraph: "To leave material like that in an area which is used by children and families is despicable.
"It is about time that those who are involved in any campaign realise that people don't want this and want to have a normal life.
"They want to be able to use areas like the Colin Glen for recreational use knowing that their families are safe."
