A man has died following a road crash in Richill, Co Armagh

A man has died following a road crash just outside Richhill, Co Armagh.

Police have not released the age nor any other details about the man.

He died following a one vehicle road traffic crash at the Stonebridge roundabout on the Portadown Road in Richhill on Friday.

The collision occurred at around 3.45pm and involved a black coloured Vauxhall Astra car. 

It is understood the man who died lived locally.

Ulster Unionist councillor Jim Speers said he believes he knows the man well and did not wish to release his name.

He told the Belfast Telegraph that he was extremely saddened to hear the news and has offered his condolences to the man's family.

The PSNI is conducting an enquiry to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision and the road remains closed for a time.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit at Sprucefield on 101.
