North Down Borough Council has agreed to allocate £2,600 of funding towards the hosting of a charity concert in Bangor.

The Help for Heroes concert, scheduled to take place in Bangor at the Elm Conference Centre on March 17 and 18, will include the Royal Marine Band. The charity was set up to help support injured soldiers and their families coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Councillor Alex Easton welcomed the council’s decision.

He said: “I welcome the decision taken by North Down Borough Council to allocate £2,600 of funding towards the charity Help for Heroes.

“I believe that Help for Heroes is an excellent charity and I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and support our heroes.”

Tickets can be purchased from Bangor Tourist Information Centre on 9127 0069 or North Down Museum on 9127 1200.
