Countdown to Belfast Lord Mayor's Parade

The Lord Mayor's Parade takes to the streets of Belfast next Saturday, June 18.

The event, themed 'One World, One Vision, One Future', kicks off at Writers' Square, opposite St Anne's Cathedral, at noon and snakes its way along Royal Avenue and Donegall Place before finishing at the City Hall where a global cafe will be set up in the grounds.

Belfast Lord Mayor Niall O Donnghaile said: "One World, One Vision, One Future is a very apt and inspiring premise for the 2011 celebrations and clearly underlines the desire for cohesion and a move towards a more inclusive, multi-cultural and forward-thinking Belfast."

The parade will include Leaping Salmon Irish dancers, a dancing swan, Chinese lions and dragons, street performers, face-painting and a have-a-go drum circle.
