The boys from Co Antrim became local heroes at a raucous Ballymena Showgrounds as they won the 2015 Dale Farm Milk Cup.

Antrim defeated Mexican visitors Club America on penalties last night after a hard-fought 1-1 draw to take the coveted prize.

Goalkeeper Jack Ferguson was the hero of the shoot-out.

He said afterwards: "It means a lot because this is the first time Antrim have ever won this tournament."

In the absence of Manchester United from this year's competition a local winner was the next best thing - and the Antrim youngsters fairly celebrated - with the traditional copious draughts of milk.

Earlier at the Showgrounds, Ghanaian side Right to Dream lived up to their name as they took the Dale Farm Milk Cup Junior trophy with a crushing 7-0 victory over Southampton.
