Crowds gather to pay tribute to victims of the Holocaust
Jews and Christians joined together in Belfast yesterday to remember the Holocaust and take a stand against anti-Semitism in the world today.
They were taking part in the March of Life, from the Jaffe Fountain - built by Belfast's only Jewish mayor Otto Jaffe in 1874 in memory of his father - to City Hall.
Organiser Mike McNally said the event - just ahead of Jewish Holocaust Remembrance Day today - allowed people to "stand shoulder to shoulder with our Jewish community to commemorate the Shoah (Holocaust)".
"We want to say 'Never Again', to this atrocity and make a public declaration against modern anti- Semitism," he added.
Rabbi David Singer said: "Voices are being raised more and more and in many places around the world so that the past mistakes will not be repeated."
