Thirty-four youngsters are set for the red-carpet treatment in Hollywood as Northern Ireland-made film A Christmas Star is premiered next week in the US.

The group of dancers and parents are now LA bound and there will also be three special screenings of the film in New York and Washington DC.

The Sony Wonder Technology Lab will host two viewings of the film today in New York, while on Monday, the Secretary's Office of Global Partnerships at the US Department of State in Washington will host the film featuring a performance from the Gillian Doogan Dance School.

The LA premiere will take place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at the TCL Chinese Theatre this Thursday.

Last night Gillian Doogan told the Belfast Telegraph: "I can't tell you how excited we all are, children and adults. This is something beyond all our wildest dreams."

A Christmas Wish will also be screened by BBC Northern Ireland and UTV at Christmas.
