Daniel O'Donnell gets all tongue-tied in Strictly dance lesson
It looks as if Daniel O'Donnell has got work to do if he wants to lift the Strictly Come Dancing glitterball trophy.
Footage of the legendary Irish singer practising dance moves with his pro-dancer partner Kristina Rhiannoff reveals he is concentrating hard on his routine for later this month and is getting into the swing of things, but has a long road ahead.
The BBC Strictly Twitter account praised the 53-year-old Co Donegal man on the progress he is making.
"Smooth moves Danny Boy," the social media manager wrote.
Fans of the show noted Daniel's fingers were splayed in footage of him with Kristina, which is something thorny judge Craig-Revel Horwood keeps an eye out for.
"Need to do some work on those hands Kristina," one Strictly fan wrote on Twitter.
"'You know who' will have a field day!"
On the new footage, another fan said: "Love this. Go Daniel #proudtobeirish"
Daniel has introduced Kristina to Irish jigs and reels, so some well-known traditional moves could make it into their routines.
He is enjoying the challenge of learning to dance and is thrilled to have such a good teacher.
"She's very patient, very calm and even when I do something wrong she doesn't say, 'That was wrong,' she just explains and says, 'Try and do it this way'," he said.
Kristina has described Daniel as a "lovely person" and said his wife Majella O'Donnell was her "personal hero".
The Russian dancer and choreographer spoke of her admiration for Majella's charity work for breast cancer, as her mother is suffering from the disease.
She told The Ray D'Arcy Show: "Majella is in my eyes a personal hero because I know what she went through and my mother actually has been going through the same problem as well with breast cancer.
"Obviously Daniel told me what she's done for the charity, I think it's incredible.
"She's definitely in my eyes a woman to admire"
Kristina, Daniel, 14 other celebrities and their professional partners signed up for the 2015 show which will be back on our screens on September 25.
