Death row dog Lennox to spend Christmas in the pound
A dog on death row for seven months will spend Christmas in the care of Belfast City Council’s dog warden service.
Owner Caroline Barnes has vowed to fight to save her dog who was seized by the council under the Dangerous Dogs (NI) Order last May.
The council claims the dog is a banned pit bull terrier breed and should be put down.
But the Barnes family say it is a cross between an American bulldog and a Labrador crossed with a Staffordshire bull terrier.
The dog is registered to Mrs Barnes but belongs to her disabled daughter Brook (12).
The case is due before Belfast Magistrates’ Court in February.
