Derriaghy burglaries: Police appeal for information after three homes targeted

Police have appealed for information after three homes were burgled in Derriaghy, near Belfast.

At approximately 3.25am on Sunday the house of an elderly woman in the Mosside Road area was broken into.

The culprits entered the property while the occupant was in bed. It is believed a handbag was stolen.

The female resident was not injured during this incident, however she was left very badly shaken.

A second burglary was reported at a neighbouring property, however it is not known at this stage if anything has been stolen.

Sometime between 4.30pm on Saturday and 11.00am on Sunday a property in the Fairview Park area was also broken into. It is not believed that anything was stolen.

Detective Sergeant Lisa McCambridge said: “I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in these areas or who has any information to contact detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime at Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101."
