Derry gun attack blamed on dissidents
Dissident republicans are thought to have been behind a gun attack at a house in the Creggan area of Londonderry on Thursday night.
A man and a woman were inside the house in Ballymagowan Avenue when the shots were fired. While neither were injured they were left in a state of shock and fled the house.
It's the second time since October 2016 that shots were fired at this address.
One neighbour who heard the shots said: "We are not long into a new year but it looks like this year will be just like the last one and the gunmen still rule the streets.
"There are a lot of social problems in this area. The people of Creggan have a lot to put up with but guns won't solve anything.
"I can't say I know the people who live in that house but I think they have left now and who would blame them.
"I would leave here too if I had somewhere else to go, it's gotten that bad."
