Derry lit up for spooky Christmas film shoot
It may be nearer St Patrick's Day, but parts of Londonderry are lit up with Christmas decorations as filming begins for a ghost story movie set on New Year’s Eve.
Shipquay Street and Waterloo Street have been festooned with Christmas lights and tinsel as hundreds of partygoers in fancy dress take part in the film Limbo.
The spooky movie is being made by Belfast-based company Cyprus Avenue Film.
Assistant director Stephen Darragh said: “People have been very enthusiastic and have turned out to help us fill Derry city centre with a full-blown party atmosphere.”
Welcoming the film crew to the city, mayor Colum Eastwood said the council was only too |delighted to assist. “Not only is it great profile for the city, but it will create a great buzz in the city centre,” said Mr Eastwood.
