The Derry-Londonderry-Doire yacht has made it home to its native city after taking part in the world's longest ocean race.

It arrived back on the Foyle after winning the home leg of the Clipper Round the World Race.

Thousands welcomed the boat back to Londonderry on Monday morning.

It sailed home as part of the city's LegenDerry Martime Festival.

One of its skippers - Sean McCarter - said he couldnt be "any prouder of how this team has performed".

"We have always said this is our race and there was no way we were going to let anyone else stand on that podium in Derry ahead of us," he told the BBC.
