Detectives investigating the suspicious death of a man in Newtownards have been granted further time to quiz three suspects.

Dessie Mee, 45, died after an incident at the Millers House apartment block in Regent Street on Tuesday evening.

Mr Mee, from Blenheim Drive in the town, was found badly injured outside the block and died later in hospital.

Two men, aged 35 and 42, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested in the wake of the incident. Detectives have now been granted an extra 36 hours to continue questioning them.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later on Thursday.
