Dog owner fined after German Shepherd attacked child in Belfast street
A Belfast woman has been fined £250 and ordered to pay £400 compensation after her dog attacked and injured a child.
Laura O’Kane, from Somerton Road in north Belfast, was also ordered to pay court costs of £69 in relation to the offence which happened on August 19, 2013.
Her German Shepherd dog attacked and injured an 11-year-old girl in the street.
The judge also issued a confinement order for the dog, meaning it must be kept on a lead and muzzled when out in public.
The prosecution was brought by Belfast City Council.
