Downpatrick man remanded on threats to kill charges

A Co Down man was remanded in custody today accused of assault and threats to kill offences.

Terence McManus was arrested by police over an alleged incident on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old, of Bridge Street in Downpatrick, appeared before Belfast Magistrates' Court to face a total of five charges.

He is accused of assaulting a man and woman, and making threats to three people.

No details were disclosed about the alleged incidents.

A defence solicitor confirmed no bail application was being made at this stage.

McManus was instead remanded into custody until Friday, when he is expected to seek release from custody. ends
