Police have uncovered drugs in a Belfast city centre apartment.

Officers uncovered cannabis plants with a street value of around £25,000 and a quantity of herbal cannabis at the Custom House Square address on Tuesday.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs related offences at a separate address in the north of the city. She was later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “This search and arrest come as part of a follow up operation to the seizure of cannabis in Carrickfergus in December 2015.

"Our enquiries are continuing and I would appeal to anyone with any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
