Dunmurry attack: Male questioned after teen hit with brick at train station
A male has been questioned by police after a teenage girl was hit in the face with a brick in west Belfast.
Laura McGlade (15) was at Dunmurry train station when the incident happened at the weekend.
The teen was waiting at the railway halt with a friend when she was struck in the face by a brick thrown from the far side of the platform at around 10.10pm on Saturday.
She sustained a fractured eye socket, facial laceration and a suspected detached retina.
Speaking to the BBC, her grandmother Betty McAvoy said the teenager is in a "lot of pain" and "worried sick about the possibility of surgery".
Police said a male attended a police station voluntarily on Monday. He was interviewed by officers investigating the attack.
Detective Inspector Richard Thornton said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent teenager.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance in our appeal for information.”
