Barefoot schoolteacher Eamonn Keaveney (24) brought his special brand of sole power to Belfast yesterday when he arrived in the city on his 2,000km trek around Ireland to raise funds for a suicide prevention charity.

Big-hearted Eamonn set off from his home in Claremorris in Co Mayo on May 1, and expects to complete his marathon trek in early August.

"Suicide and self-harm have affected every community in Ireland - and we need to help support the people struggling with these issues," he said.
