An elderly woman has been left shaken after her home was ransacked.

She was held by two men who then scoured her property for valuables.

The incident happened at Larkfield Road in the Sydenham area of east Belfast at about 10.40pm on Thursday.

The woman, who was not hurt, managed to raise the alarm by contacting neighbours.

PSNI Detective Constable Johnny McKee said: "I would like to remind all householders to keep their doors locked and if someone calls to their door who they do not know, do not grant them entry to your home."

Any witnesses have been asked to contact CID at Musgrave Street station.
