Elderly woman struck by car in Lurgan

An 80-year-old woman has been treated in hospital after being struck by a car in Lurgan.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash in the Avenue Road area of the town last Friday evening.

Shortly before 6pm it was reported that the female pedestrian was struck by a red coloured Ford Fiesta on Avenue Road between Lurgan Park and the junction of Avenue Road and Flush Place.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for a number of fractures.

Sergeant Myles Meaney is appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Avenue Road around this time and who witnessed the collision to contact officers in Lurgan Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
